Rodent? Canine?

This small life form is considered a dog, usually, but I can’t help think that this is something my cat might eat.
The dog’s name is Alexis and is pleasant enough. Friendly and playful. But really small.
I couldn’t tell you the number of times I almost stepped on her.
Anyway … a number of us were watching football on Sunday. Alma and Matt were there along with Trina who, as this picture indicates, may not have shared our adult enthusiasm for sitting around and watching a TV.
I love her expression. She’ll probably be appalled that I put it online.

I grew up with two of these pups and the breed makes me smile every time I see one! Their yips are a little irritating, but they still aren’t as bad as my beau.
I have a Maine Coon cat. She would consider Alexis to be an hors d’oeuvre.
I have a mastiff, who would roll over & show her belly if the furball yipped enough. My 20-lb cat (not a Maine Coone - I’m so jealous, those are cool cats - just fat) would sit on it. The guinea pig would try & groom it (using teeth only) and probably get bitten, which would REALLY pi$$ the fat cat off, who would then likely get violent.
