A happy afternoon
April 23rd, 2006 by Bill
Normally I would dislike an “afternoon” hockey game. Not only is it just plain wrong to have hockey games in the afternoon, I place quotation marks around “afternoon” because while it may be after 12 on the east coast, it ain’t out here.
So today’s Oilers-Red Wings game started at 11:00 a.m. That’s like starting a football game at 8 in the morning. It’s idiotic. It offends sensibilities. It’s just not done in polite society.
However, given that the Oil beat Detroit 4 to 2, I can live with it.
Still, since everyone in the east seems to be moving out west, they may want to rethink their notion of what “afternoon” means.
