Tea time at the midnight hour
August 31st, 2006 by Bill
Late at night, I drink tea. And wear my grandpa sweater. I am so unhip I’m cool.
Seriously, every night - very late - I drink tea. And I’m usually wearing this sweater that is so old I no longer remember when or where I got it. (It cost about $1.95 or even less when I got it. And it’s pure polyester.)
But I like the idea of being so freakin’ boring. It transcends hipness or whatever it’s called now. It is almost cool in its uncoolness.
Soon, soon I shall start talking to myself. (Wait a moment … I already do that).
Soon, soon I shall start wearing pajamas … Well, no. Maybe not.

Yes, I have (and had) clothes that were old, ugly and so uncool that they were cool.
Recently, I took a sweatshirt to my local taylor. When he held it up, I could see him through it. He smiled, he understood.
My sweatshirt is my blankie clothing. I clean best in it, relax best, great pj’s and it is even good to go for street wear.
I hear you! It’s all cooooool.
And I’m wearing the same sweater now - though it’s morning so I’m drinkng coffee.
Based on my wardrobe, i must be seriously cool.
I think we’re all seriously cool. We just need to convince the rest of the world of this.
hippest.
i have three pieces of extremely worn, old, ratty clothing that I refuse to let go of no matter what!
They bring me comfort, peace, and for the time that I’m wearing them, a sense of belonging.
I will not part with them. no. don’t make me try.
It’s hip to be square.
