Bay of Fundy visit
August 12th, 2007 by Bill
Yes, this is another in what we can depend upon being a long and tedious series of postings by the new dog owner rambling about (what else?) his dog.
Despite what the picture to the right looks like, Molly has not tossed me into the Bay of Fundy. She is simply encountering big water for the first time.
It would seem water and boats, or at least the sight of them, agree with her.
My friend Liz has described Molly as the Dancing Frog. You know, the guy from the old cartoons? The one who sings, “Hello my baby! Hello my honey! Hello my ragtime gal …” and generally puts on a big performance? And then …
Then when someone goes to show the amazing frog to someone else the frog just sits there like a frog and says, “ribbit.”
That’s Molly. She runs around the yard like there’s a firecracker up her ass, she slams into me knocking me on my ass, she even plays fetch in a limited way … And then someone comes by and she goes to her bed sits there and does nothing.
Well, a trainer is coming next week and we’re going to work on a few things, including her social skills.
In the meantime, views of Molly exist in the Molly Bloom folder on Flickr.

You know, I normally don’t even like dogs that are smaller than a pony, but I swear I’m coming to Canada to kidnap her. What is she anyway?
They usually say she’s a boxer mix. But she may have some Dalmatian and maybe some border collie in her. I think she’s something like 40 to 45 lbs., so she ain’t huge but she ain’t small either.
And you can’t have Molly!
She sounds like a regular little terror. My sister’s dog Shawny Jr. was with me for a year, since the other owners in her apartment building objected to a dog in the building! She & her family now live in a house so they have had the dog back for a year now. But I still remember Shawny Jr. (so named after my dog of 11 years who passed away a few months before my sister got her dog)
